Who we are

A quiet centre in Jodhpur, faithful to a tradition.

Three framed artworks — a figure in red, the Om symbol centred, a green & red figure — above a single chair

The centre Indra Yoga Sansthan was established in the year 1997 under the guidance of Late Pandit Shambhunath Ji — a student of late Shri Jogendraji and the chief investigator in clinical researches into yoga at the famous The Yoga Institute of Mumbai.

For nearly three decades the Sansthan has remained a humble, working centre — a place where regular and therapeutic yoga classes are taught, camps are organised, and seekers are welcomed regardless of age or background. The teaching follows the Patanjali tradition, with a steady emphasis on right action, conscious breath, and inward stillness.

Lineage

  • Late Shri Jogendraji — founder of The Yoga Institute, Mumbai (1918), the oldest organised yoga centre in the world.
  • Late Pandit Shambhunath Ji — his student and a clinical researcher in yoga therapy, who founded Indra Yog Sansthan in Jodhpur.
  • Today's teachers — carrying the same simple, householder-oriented yoga forward.

What we offer

Therapeutic regular classes, condition-specific therapeutic sessions, yoga for kids, pranayama, meditation, and occasional camps. Every session begins and ends with shlokas, and every class is built around sthira-sukham āsanam — steady, comfortable presence.
